The secret of sculpture
My book, which describes the development of a bronze sculpture in detail, has now finally been published!
On a total of 422 pages, highly informative texts and 413 color photos illustrate all of the techniques up to their completion through bronze casting in the foundry. It documents all work steps in detail and also contains an overview of all my artistic work.
The book is available from me personally, in galleries and regular bookshops, under ISBN 9783982185927 and at a fixed price of 69.95 euros.
Iris Rousseau:
For all those who are interested in my art.
With this book I hope that I will be able to take you with me into another world, into the world of art. To immerse you in the wonderful craft of a sculptor and to bring you closer to the understanding of the complex technology and the "career" of a bronze sculpture.
I am also answering all the questions that have been asked of me about technology over the past decades.
The work starts with an idea, a visual inspiration and of course a design.
My book guides you step by step through the different work processes up to the completion of a sculpture.
For me, these work processes are very happy, creative, curiosity, tension and excitement, but in between they are often accompanied by doubts and frustration. It is important to me to finish what I have started!
Each sculpture has its own story with different emotions and memories. Aesthetics and harmony are in the foreground. My artistic activity always fills me with great joy and gratitude.
Together with my husband Eduard, we have succeeded in enlivening our house, the gallery and the garden with art and inspiration. This enables us to relax.
The studio & gallery can be visited at any time, even on weekends, according to the current regulations. A brief arrangement by phone or email is sufficient.
